This Week on the farm
January 28, 2019 This is a hard one to write, it’s hard to put words onto the paper and have them say how we feel. There are so many emotions swirling around the farm right now, that we aren’t really sure which one we are feeling at any given moment. Just two weeks earlier mom was celebrating her birthday with a great spirit, and then Wednesday January 23 she complained of back aches, Friday her jaw hurt so bad she couldn’t chew. By Saturday night this incredible, strong, and beautiful women said she was ready to die, she loved us and said she had a good life. She knew it was her time and had asked for everyone to come say goodbye. We all came out and enjoyed a simple dinner in her honor, laughing and telling stories of this woman that has had such a huge impact on each of our lives. When we finished, we said our goodbyes and went our separate ways. But when the call came at 10:45PM we knew that there was only one place we needed to be. We all returned to her bedside at the farm, surrounding her with love for her and for each other. We sat with her, telling our favorite stories, remembering her words and listening as the great horned owls sang to us as they helped her spirit fly with the angels.
We will always have her in our hearts. Maysel Ann Heasell January 14, 1921 - January 28, 2019
